Congratulations are in order for Mthobisi Linda on his permanent appointment as our new Assistant Procurement Officer.
Mthobisi's journey with us began in October 2022 when he joined Council as a Procurement Intern after earning his Degree in Supply Chain Management. From day one, his commitment, adaptability, and value to the team were undeniable.
Over 12 months of hands-on learning and impactful contributions, it became clear Mthobisi was more than just an intern – he was a team player who exceeded expectations. His hard work and dedication earned him a fixed-term contract and now, a permanent role.
"It feels great to be appointed permanently – it feels like a reward for my efforts. Working on a contract is tough, there's no certainty about tomorrow. This appointment is not only a relief but also serves as a validation of the trust Council placed in me."

Mthobisi attributes his success to a blend of hard work and good fortune. "I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. Council provided me with exposure to various aspects of Supply Chain Management – opportunities that many interns working in same field in other companies don't get. My favourite was contract management, and I plan to expand my expertise in this area as I grow with the team."
