Road Freight Soccer Tournament

On 23 April 2016 a Road Freight and Logistics Soccer Tournament was held at Seshego Zone 2, Polokwane. The tournament, which was hosted and organised by Mavhayisi Shivuri from City Logistics, had a distinct purpose- to unite the Road Freight and Logistics workforce.

The National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry sponsored the event with gifts, which were used to incentivize members who completed their primary healthcare testing at the Trucking Wellness mobile clinics. The event was an incredible opportunity for employee members to attend to their health and wellbeing while enjoying a sporting activity.

In 2015, Trucking Wellness made the decision to revamp the Mariannhill Clinic, which they re-opened on 20 January 2016. The newly revamped clinic has aided in providing improved healthcare for our valued members and has been reconfigured to be more convenient and effective.

The Mariannhill (N3) Wellness Centre is situated at the Engen Truckstop on 129 Westmead Road Pinetown and was established in 2008. The Clinic is sponsored by the NBCRFLI, Mercedes Benz South Africa Commercial and Engen South Africa.

TruckX 2015

On 9 July 2015, the Council exhibited its services at the TruckX Expo Conference and Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre. The one-day event highlighted the biggest and best with regard to commercial vehicles and ancillary products for South Africa's fleet, trucking and logistics sectors. The event also saw the inaugural launch of the TruckX Exhibition, featuring 32 stands, one of which showcased the NBCRFLI.

The event was attended by a mix of company owners, managers and even a couple of truck drivers. Thus it presented a fantastic opportunity for us as an organisation not only to showcase our services, but to also liaise directly with stakeholders in the Industry.
