“We all have a responsibility to contribute to building a nation that recognizes and actively reinforces the values of Ubuntu,” says Tersia Ströh, Acting National Secretary of the NBCRFLI. “We recognize that crime has a significant effect on our nation, our employees, unions and employers. Crime negatively impacts our profits, salaries and infrastructure. As the Bargaining Council for the Industry, we publically commit to unite and work together with all Industry stakeholders to reduce the incidence of crime within our industry for the benefit of all. We urge Industry parties to join us in this endeavour.”
“Members of the road freight and logistics industry need to work together to prevent crime and to appropriately intervene where crime is detected so that society can act against those that are misappropriating our resources,” explains Mogerikwa Mathe, Chief Internal Auditor of the NBCRFLI. “In an effort to protect our people, organisations and institutions from those who seek to benefit from unlawful, dishonest and unethical behaviour, such as fraud, we have developed a fraud prevention and awareness road map, which highlights our commitment to crime prevention in the industry.
